What Age Calculator calculates
Enter a date of birth and a reference date (today by default), and the calculator returns the precise interval between them - not the rough 'subtract the years' answer, but the calendar-correct one that accounts for whether this year's birthday has passed, how long each month is, and leap days.
Why the numbers matter
Exact age matters more often than people expect: eligibility cutoffs for school admissions, competitive exams, visas, and insurance all specify age 'as on' a particular date - and being off by a day matters when the rule says 'must be under 25 as on 1 January'. The as-on-date mode answers exactly that question.
